New South Wales offer the most surfing beaches in Australia. Sydney's beaches offer a cool mix of coast and urban lifestyle and not too many world cities have surfing beaches so close to the city centre. In New South Wales experienced surfers can head either South or North to beaches in national parks to find surf schools, and only a days drive will have you surfing some of Australia's most famed breaks along the north and south coasts.

Much of the coastal beaches in new South Wales are complimented by lush green hinterland to the west and therefore it is a common site to see this rolling countryside dotted with cows and ageing farm houses. There are plenty of beaches in New South Wales for families and beginners to get the hang of surfing and introduce the kids to the basics of beach safety.
